INTO its sixth successful year, the Fiji Performing Rights Association (FPRA) Music Awards acknowledged 15 artists and musicians who were recognised for their hard work last night.
FPRA awarded artists who have worked tirelessly over the year trying to release good quality music that listeners could enjoy.
FPRA chairman Saimone Vuatalevu said the existence and functions of FPRA was mandated under the Fiji Copyright Act of 1999.
“The association is a collective management organisation (CMOS) affiliated to over 110 CMOS worldwide,” he said.
He said FPRA was a non- profitable organisation and revenue derived from these licences fees collected was maximised for the annual payment of copyright royalties to its members here in Fiji as well as to composers around the world.
He thanked sponsors for their tremendous support over the years.
Fifteen artists were awarded during the music award.
