SWIRE Shipping Fijian Drua and Naitasiri flanker Motikai Murray is fired up and ready to go for this weekend’s quarterfinals clash, boldly laying down the gauntlet to their western rivals with a confident, “bring it on”.
The Lovoni, Ovalau player who was rested last week is most likely to don the number 7 jumper this weekend against Ba.
Having completed their gym and pool recovery sessions, the Naitasiri team is currently perfecting their set plays and defensive structures as they anticipate another tough encounter against Vinod Patel Ba.
Motikai has highlighted a few aspects of their game they need to improve before the quarters.
“Just some basic things, ball into contact, breakdown, discipline and general plays” he said.
He added that their western opponents play an aggressive game with a focus on ruck turnovers and ball retention but he is confident their forwards will step up and disrupt the Ba momentum when they meet this weekend.
This week’s quarter-finals will be a rematch from last weeks round 9 fixture. In a tough and gruelling encounter Naitasiri held on 27-20 against Ba, setting up this week’s quarter-final rematch.
They meet on Saturday, 3pm at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
