THE Multi-National Observer Group observer coordinator and head of secretariat says they are aware of the issues highlighted in the group’s final report following the 2014 General Election.
While addressing a press conference in Suva yesterday, Alice Cawte said they would study the report and look at the changes needed to be made in the electoral environment if the context had changed since then.
“We are the 2018 MOG so we will be making our own observations and recommendations,” Ms Cawte said.
So far, she said, since last week, they had observed some of the voter registration methods and these were just complex processes.
Ms Cawte said she had also spoken to political parties during a workshop which was organised by the Fijian Elections Office in Suva earlier this week.
“We are ready and about to accelerate the pace of our engagement with every range of stakeholder.
We are also making arrangements to speak to individual parties and certainly looking forward to engage with them to hear their observations and experiences,” she said.
