THE achievement made by the Naitasiri Provincial Council will inspire Fijians to rise up to the challenge and contribute towards developing a healthy population, says Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar.
Naitasiri Provincial Council was awarded the Best Proposal Award for 2017 under the World Health Organization (WHO) Islands Recognition Program.
The award was given for best proposals submitted for community-based works or multi-sectoral engagement.
Ms Akbar said the proposal made by the council focused on utilising traditional structures to revitalise the healthy island concept at provincial level.
