THE media industry has had to adjust according to the demands of the public.
These were the words of Fiji Times Editor in Chief Fred Wesley during the company’s 150th year anniversary at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva last Friday.
Mr Wesley said The Fiji Times have embraced the fact that the audience has a proclivity to now surf the net, or turn to social media platforms.
“The public sphere has changed greatly over the past decade, forcing media companies to adjust accordingly. The Fiji Times has not been immune to this turn of events,” he said.
Mr Wesley added that The Fiji Times would like to be here for the things that matter.
“We have to make it relevant to our audience, interesting and thought-provoking,” he added.
