The Nabua Maroons side outclassed their opponents from the Marist Rugby Club by 29-15 in round eight of the Suva Rugby Union FMF Escott Shield competition at Bidesi ground in Laucala Bay yesterday.

Maroons coach Jim Malumu said it was a tough clash with the team from Flagstaff but he was happy with the performance from his young side.

“This was a good game and I thank these young players for fighting till the end,” said Malumu.

“We take every game seriously and we count it as a build up for us in the coming games to come.”

Malumu added they had a lot to work on in the coming weeks with their aim of reaching the competition play-offs.

“We will take all the learning from this game and try and improve on it moving forward.”
