THE Ministry of Agriculture will soon unveil a new structure and brand for its research division.

This includes renaming research stations around the country.

Agriculture Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy said this at the commissioning of new quarters at the Dobuilevu Research Station in Rakiraki yesterday.

He said the ministry had embarked on a major restructure and rebranding of research stations.

“We will be relooking at the role of Koronivia Research Station and we will be renaming it,” Mr Reddy said.

He said part of the plan was to have staff members at research stations who could undertake deeper research.

“Whatever we do at the ground level, we are supported by what’s happening at the research stations and if they fail to do that, we will be failing our farmers who are our ultimate clients.”

The minister also opened quarters and office facilities at the Nayavu and Nanukuloa research stations yesterday.
