Fiji’s Ministry of Local Government has approved nine development projects this month.

Minister for Local Government Premila Kumar noted this during a press briefing in Suva today where she said the projects cost $48million.

Ms Kumar said from January to September this year, 24 development projects had been approved.

“It is always good to see where the development is taking place, and particularly now with COVID-19,” the Minister said.

“We would like to bring about this positivity, which actually exists, and today’s data will reveal that we have our investors with us despite the uncertainty related to COVID-19.

“They are still putting their money on the table and they do believe with their projects that it will happen so these are all good news, and maybe next month, I will share with you the building applications that we have received.”
