A youth group has taken on the challenge in finding ways to reach out to the needy in society.
Lites Fiji Youth Group, which was only set up a few months ago, was recently recognised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its contribution to the community.
Founder Prashantika Prasad said the group had recently assisted Pacific Animal Shelter and Hospital (PASH) in its daily operations, and also handed over reading materials to Treasure Home in Nadi.
“I always wanted to create a platform for others to make a difference in our community,” Ms Prasad said
She said the group was slowly collecting resources for future assistance.
“Teenagers should make a change for the better and always give their best.”
Group president Venayak Pillay said the group had lined up a couple of community projects with work in progress.
“Teenagers should not let society stop them in what they believe and could receive, only if the change is for the betterment of the society,” Mr Pillay said.
