FORMER Flying Fijian Sekove Leawere played a crucial role when helping his Tuwalu Tigers team defeat Three Jam Nadevo 56-34 in the Fiji National Rugby League Navosa Zone weekly competition over the weekend.
His contribution also enabled the Tigers to relegate Keiyasi Cowboys from the top of the point’s table and also stamped their mark in the competition.
Leawere’s strength, pace and experience was a thorn for the opposition as he gallantly led his team dethrone the Epi Neioko-captained side.
In other games, Isoa Neivua’s Nukuilau Sharks was narrowly beaten by Wala Classic 12-11 while Rusiate Levula’s Keiyasi Cowboys failed to find their rhythm as they went down 6-13 to Koronamaya.
Draiba Panthers thumped Gold Coast Tigers 36-18.
Meanwhile, former national 7s rep Sakiusa Gavidi featured strongly for the Kulukulu Rabbitohs but failed to inspire his side losing 10-6 to a determined Baravi Eels side.
Former Nadroga and Suva rep Samu Kunanitu helped his Raiwaqa Knights defeat Coastal Titans 14-10 to lead the Nadroga zone points table standing.
