THE Lami Beach Soccer side thrashed the Suva side 10-1, at the Digicel Fiji Southern Beach Soccer League, held at the Fiji Sports Council pitch in Laucala Bay, Suva yesterday afternoon.
The team showed exemplary flair as they proved too strong for their opponents to show any contention.
Team manager Kajal Prasad said her team did well in the match, despite falling short in coordination.
“They did well today (yesterday) despite not having good coordination among themselves, but they (Lami players) tried to work it out and they were really good at it.”
The team was in jubilant spirits after the win and Prasad said the team found the tournament to be an exciting one.
The Lami side competed in the beach soccer league tournament for the first time this year.
She added the team’s preparations was proceeding well and expressed a further desire for the team to play in the Oceania Football Championship (OFC) in the future.
The manager gave her assurance that the squad fielded high prospects and wished them well in their future matches together.
“I could say my boys have potential. They can do well so I hope the very best for them and I hope to see them in the national team,” she added.
