COMMUNITY engagement will remain a key focus for staff and management of Radisson Blu Resort Fiji.

Resort general manager Charles Homsy said they were particularly focused on the health and wellbeing of staff, guests as well as members of the local community.

During the month of Pinktober, the resort has also undertaken a range of programs, including a Pinktober breakfast, health check-ups and a morning walk planned for next month.

“We also engage doctors to do tests especially during this month for breast cancer, we are also doing it for our community and engaging doctors to go to the villages, do awareness campaigns and explain and test,” Mr Homsy said.

“This is a continuous process and it’s not only about Pinktober or breast cancer but also about whatever we can do to explain and promote health and wellness. This goes with our job. It can happen to our family, so we need to take this seriously.

“We have also launched in collaboration with the local community. It is going to focus on sanitation, water and garbage treatment but we will also concentrate on our local community, also on sports, kindergarten and school upgrades.”

He said this was an ongoing process that would not stop as they were committed to investing in the community.
