WORLD Boxing Foundation Australasian heavyweight champion James Singh will meet Jonasa Kavika in the first challenger for the belt this year.

“That is what they want and I am ready,” Singh said.

The Sigatoka-based boxer said he was blessed to be the current champion and was ready to meet any challenger be it, Kavika or any other heavyweight fighter.

“Whoever intends to challenge me for the belt, I am ready to defend it and confident that the belt will be with me for a long time.”

Meanwhile while that rematch awaits confirmation, Singh prepares himself for his fight this year in Australia where he takes on Samoan born boxer Hermaine Ene Purcell.

This will be the first meeting between the two fighters with Purcell sitting on a record of 16 wins and eight losses.

The contest takes place on March 14 at the Rumours Internationa Convention Centre in Toowoomba, Queensland Australia.
