Juvenile charged for raping cousins

A JUVENILE was charged with the rape of his 4-year-old and 6-year-old cousins.

This was revealed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in its rape and sexual offences statistics for the month of November this year.

The statistics revealed that 14 people were charged with a total of 20 counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, one count of indecent assault and six counts of sexual assault.

The ODPP said there were 15 victims of these sexual offences of whom 12 were minors under the age of 18 years.

There was one incident where a 20-year-old man was charged with the rape of his 16-year-old girlfriend whereby it is alleged that he used a knife to intimidate her.

The ODPP report states there was one incident where a 42-year-old man was charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault of his 14-year-old stepdaughter.

The report states that there were three separate incidents where uncles were charged with the rape of their nieces aged 12, 14 and 17 years.

A total of three cases were withdrawn after a nolle prosequi was filed by the ODPP.
