Update: 1:13PM NATIONAL javelin rep Leslie Copeland has set a new national record.
Copeland recorded a throw of 81.76m during the javelin
final in the Australian Athletics Championship over the weekend where he
finished third.
“I firmly believe that Leslie will qualify for the
Olympic Games. Leslie and I would like to thank our sponsor Shop and Save for
all the support that was rendered towards our training stint in Australia,”
Copeland’s coach James Goulding said.
The Olympics qualifying standard is 83m.
