There are three unbeaten sides and two still looking to get off the schneid as New Zealand’s National Basketball League heads into its third round starting Friday.
The 11-time champion Wellington Saints and newcomers the Auckland Huskies share the competition lead with 3-0 starts to their season, while title favourites the Hawke’s Bay Hawks sit tucked in behind after a 2-0 opening to their campaign.
At the other end of the spectrum, it is already looking a long way back for competition tail-enders the 0-3 Taranaki Mountainairs and the 0-4 Manawatū Jets who both face the Otago Nuggets at home over the third round.
