THE Fiji Bati team to the 2021 Rugby League World Cup in England later this year is expected to include some local based players.

And with the continued good performance by the Kaiviti Silktails in the Ron Massey Cup competition in Sydney, Fiji National Rugby League acting chief executive officer, Don Natabe, said he was confident Fiji Bati coach Josaia Rabele would select the best of our local based players.

Natabe said Rabele would be talking to Silktails coach Wes Naiqama regarding the performance of our local based players.

“Coach is adamant and insists on having a good chat with Wes about some of the players that have been highly spoken of and that’s a definite yes for resident players,” Natabe said.

The Silktails have secured the sixth spot in RMC after winning four of their seven games in Sydney.

“We’ll definitely see the Silktails rise up the ranks in this competition,” Natabe said.

The powerful performance by the Silktails and with our top players in the NRL already showing good form in the competition, coach Rabele is expected to select one of the best teams’ to represent the Fiji Bati at the RLWC.
