Heats to face Force in netball

NETBALL Fiji anticipates a tough battle in the Digicel Punjas Netball Super League (NSL) finals tomorrow at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.

In the showdown, undefeated Western Heats which won the series knockout tournament will face the Capital Force side.

Both teams met in the series knockout tournament in March.

The Heats will be led by sisters Ana and Melanie Rusivakula while the Alivina Waqa-coached Force will rely on players such as Nina Cirikisuva, tough defender Matila Waqanidrola and Asilika Sevutia.

Netball Fiji president Wainikiti Bogidrau said there would be some scintillating matches between the three Western Division franchise teams against the Eastern Division teams in the playoffs.

“These matches include the finale, the showdown between giant killers and the undefeated Western Heats against the Capital Force team,” Bogidrau said.

“Of course, preparation for this final is well underway with both teams committed to their various training programs to ensure that they claim the number one spot this Saturday.”

Bogidrau said the Western Division teams were determined to take the title back with them.

“Can the Eastern teams prevent the Western onslaught? Only time can tell,” she added.

Entry fee to the final round will be $2 for adult and $1 for children.
