There will be a hearing to tackle the legal issues currently present in the case involving three suspended police officers charged with manslaughter.
The officers, Maciu Vakaturaga, Isireli Raseisei and Joshua Bull, appeared before Suva judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe.
Justice Rajasinghe told parties that a few weeks was required to complete the judgment.
The trio are alleged to have caused the death of Mikaele Tikoivalenibula in February, 2022.
It is alleged the men assaulted Tikoivalenibula, causing his death.
The three men is alleged policemen assaulted the victim at different times while he was in a cell at Samabula Police Station.
He also mentioned about legal issues which needed to be resolved before the judgment could be delivered.
The State and defence spoke on the discussions and questions quizzed by the judge on who the principal offenders were and if there had not been one but two incident in the assault amongst other issues.
Lawyer Shirley Tivao representing Mr Vakaturaga and Mr Bull and Lawyer Joji Cakau, who represents Mr Raseisei submit that if there is defect in the charge information, this therefore, can be prejudicial to their clients.
After vigorous discussions, defence lawyer Shirley Tivao representing Mr Bull and Mr Vakaturaga suggestion make submissions to properly address the underlined issues was granted.
The hearing on legal issues pertaining to the case has been adjourned to December 12.
