FOUR gold medals are up for grabs in the sport of golf at the Pacific Games in PNG when it commences next month.
With that Team Fiji has set its sight on winning three gold medals with the eight-member team coached by Graeme Bell taking part.
Two gold medals will be available in the Individual men’s and women’s competition while two medals are up for grabs in the team’s events.
The team’s event will consist of the best three player scores on each day.
Team manager Ofakilomaloma Swann said the team was preparing well and looking forward to the Pacific Games in PNG.
“Preparation is underway with the players now feeling confident as we get close to the games,” Swann said.
“The team has been together for over a year now and their performances have been pleasing.
“We are looking at winning three gold medals at the games and I believe we should achieve that with the team we have selected.
“We hope to improve our Oceania ranking as well as individual ranking at the upcoming games.”
Meanwhile, Ronil Prakash had been carrying a wrist injury but he has now fully recovered.
“He had injured his wrist but he has recovered now. He is training with the rest of the men’s team,” Swann added.
“The four women are currently taking part in the Fiji Women’s Open tournament in Nadi.”
