AS part of its corporate social responsibility the Fiji Ports Corporation Limited (FPCL) family organised a clean-up campaign today at the Port Mua-i-Walu at Narain jetty in Suva.

FPCL Public Relations Officer Losalini Bolatagici said the clean-up campaign is part of their Green Pacific Port initiative in ensuring they implement environment-friendly strategies to reduce carbon footprint.

“It is also organised in commemoration of the World Maritime Day celebrated last week,” Mrs Bolatagici said.

She said plants have also been bought that will be used to beautify the place and at the same time use as an environment strategy to reduce carbon footprint.

“This is part of the environment friendly strategies implemented by FPCL in support of the Green Port Pacific Initiative by SPC. Plants are being planted in our effort to reduce carbon print,” she said.

“This community work initiative is also part of our corporate social responsibility.”
