FORMER Fiji Pearls star Alisi Galo is set to make her international rugby debut after being named in the Vodagone Fijiana XV squad for the upcoming Tests.
Galo is one of four uncapped players named in the 30-member squad for the Test matches against Scotland and the Netherlands this month.
The former national netball defender played for the Suva rugby women’s team this season and was recognised as the best player of the year during the team’s awards night at the end of the Marama Championship season.
She is accompanied by fellow Suva rugby teammates Salaseini Railumu, Alfreda Fisher, and Ivamere Nabura.
Railumu who is the sister of Fijiana Drua scrumhalf Setaita Railumu provides options at flanker, Fisher, and Galo will compete for the number eight jersey against Karalaini Naisewa.
Former Fijiana 7s player Nabura comes in at first-five, a position she will compete against Jennifer Ravutia and Salanieta Kinita.
Kolora Lomani and Talei Wilson who played for the Fijiana 7s team at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games have also been named in the squad.
Litiana Lawedrau, who was axed from the Fijian Drua women’s team during their first season in Super W for breaching camp rules, is also in the squad.
The Fijiana side will face Scotland on September 15 at Hive Stadium and the Netherlands on September 19 at the National Rugby Centre Amsterdam before they head for the WXV 3 on September 27 in Dubai.
