FORMER national rugby 15s rep Kele Leawere has been named a National Federation Party candidate to contest in the general election next month.
The announcement was made in Suva on Friday where he also became the final and the 50th candidate for the party.
Party leader Professor Biman Prasad said the former lock forward was an integral member of the Fiji team in 2004 and 2006 and also co-captained the national team that reached the quarter final of the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
Before representing Fiji, he played for East Coast and Poverty Bay in New Zealand and also spent a season playing club rugby in Japan.
He is also the elder brother of former national 7s reps Sekove and Mika Leawere.
