DEFENDING champion Capital Force will face Western Zeniths in the final of the Digicel Punjas Super League at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva this afternoon.
Both the teams played an exciting match in the last round, however it was Capital Force which managed to win 62-40 last weekend at the National Netball Centre.
Capital Force president Vasiti Vugakoto said her players were prepared to defend their title.
“The players are ready to go, and are looking forward to the game,” she said.
“We’ve polished up the areas where we were lagging behind. We saw in our last game that we could not get the ball in the midcourt and there were a lot of turnovers.
“The players combined well in training and we need to get the ball to our shooter.”
Capital Force will have the services of national reps Afa Rusivakula, Filomena Korovulavula and Asilika Sevutia. They will be assisted by baby Pearls’ Merelita Waqanidrolo, Matila Vucea and Talei Waqanibete.
“Our development plan has worked out really well with New World backing us with the sponsorship for the last seven years,” Vugakoto said.
“Most of the girls playing now came from the development program. We have to stick to our game plan and play smart against Western Zenith.”
The match starts at 2pm.
