FIJI National University Lautoka Campus students attending a Model United Nations Conference in Washington DC were given an Honourable Mention award last weekend.
According to a press statement released by the Department of Information this morning, the team was awarded Honourable Mention in the category of Best Delegation and awarded a Best Position Paper award for teammates Miliana Sadrata and Apisaki Tupou’s Position Paper.
Representing Canada as their adopted country in a simulation of the UN, the team was also represented in six separate committees, finding solutions to issues in climate change, food security, natural disasters, HIV/AIDS prevention, chemical weapons, renewable energy among other issues.
