October 10 every year is always a day of celebration and festivity for every Fijian around the world.
Schools around the country celebrated in a big way on Friday, October 9 to commemorate Fiji as a nation celebrating 50 years of independence.
The country came in a sea of blue colours with some students coming in their best blue attires while others came in with their blue wigs, bula shirts, sarongs and dresses.
Classrooms were decorated with blue balloons and fabrics.
God blessed us with fine weather and the children held plays to dramatise the history of our nation and why Fiji was ceded to Great Britain in 1874.
