Swire Shipping Fijian Drua players visited Marist Brothers Primary School yesterday as part of the Drua community blitz, leaving a lasting impression on the students with their messages of discipline, sacrifice, and hard work.
Vitori Rasaqa, the school’s sports coordinator, shared his thoughts on the significance of the visit.
He said the players’ words were especially motivating for the boys, encouraging them to stay disciplined and focused on their goals.
“The players really motivated the boys. They taught them about the importance of discipline and sacrifice in reaching their goals,” Rasaqa said.
The visit was made even more special by the presence of Aisea Tuisese, a former student of the school who now plays for the Drua.
His success story gave the students a tangible example of what can be achieved through hard work and dedication.
“When they see someone who came from the same school and made it to the Drua, it gives them hope. If rugby doesn’t work out for them, they can still succeed in other areas if they stay focused,” Rasaqa added.
Rasaqa also highlighted the school’s efforts to encourage healthy lifestyles, with activities like lunchtime play and after-school rugby training.
These initiatives are aimed at helping students develop discipline both on and off the field.
Looking ahead, Rasaqa hopes the Drua players will return next year to inspire the students before their rugby season begins.
“We’d love for them to visit again next year to motivate the boys ahead of the season. It’s always great to have them here to remind the boys what it takes to succeed.”
The Drua players’ visit not only inspired the students to pursue their rugby dreams but also reinforced the importance of discipline and hard work in all aspects of life.
