The Fijian Drua has appointed Josaia Moimoi as the club’s chief financial Officer (CFO).
Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans said Moimoi comes with a wealth of experience in the financial field.
“He placed strongly after an extensive recruitment process in a field of international and local applicants. As we welcome him to the dynamic world of professional sport, we also thank our outgoing CFO Shafina Dea, who did such a great job during her time at the Drua,” he said.
Originally from Vanuabalavu in Lau, Moimoi described the opportunity as a blessing from God.
“In all my previous roles, I focused on finances that would make a positive impact on the economy, and it made going to work each day a real thrill. After my first week here, I realised that working for the Drua gives me the ability to impact individuals and that is what is really exciting for me,” he said.
“It’s a truly different sense of purpose as I start t look at rugby not only as a sport but as a source of hope, aspiration and pride for our people. It is a massive responsibility to take on the role of CFO of the Fijian Drua given the Club’s importance to our country, and I’m genuinely honoured to be entrusted with it. I look forward to working with Mark and the entire team at the Drua to take our young Club to even greater heights.”
Moimoi has over 10 years of experience in financial services and holds a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and Business Management as well as qualifications in Organisational Behaviour from Brigham Young University (BYU) in Hawaii.
Moimoi joins the Fijian Drua from the Embassy of the United States of America where he was the Financial Management Specialist.
He replaces Shafina Dean, who has moved to New Zealand to pursue further education.
