Fijian cricketer making his mark in Australia

Update: 5:38PM There’s an exciting year ahead for Cricket Fiji with the national side looking to rise up the ranks after getting its feet back on the international ladder.

Fiji will join Vanuatu in World League Division 6 later in the year after securing their place at the ICC East Asia-Pacific tournament in Australia last November.

One player who will be hoping to feature in the Fijian squad once again is spin bowler Viliame Yabaki who’s also been making something of a name for himself with the bat at his Australian club side in Melbourne.

Vili is one of a number of Fijian players plying their trade over here at the moment for sides in Sydney and Adelaide as well as Melbourne.

He says making 57 runs off 35 balls for his Boroondara Cobras side against East-Ivanhoe Saints was a highlight.
