THE Vodafone Fiji national women’s team will play two friendly matches against the visiting Samoan side next week.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said this opportunity would provide a good outing for the Fiji side before the World Cup qualifiers.

“We play Samoa two times next week. One on Monday and then on Thursday at the Ba Academy ground. This will be a good build up for Marika Rodu and his team before they depart for New Caledonia,” said Yusuf.

Coach Marika Rodu said although he had yet to have his full squad in camp, the two matches should be a good testing ground.

“I have 14 players in camp already while others are still out as they have exams to complete. Trina Davis will join the squad on the 11th of next month so we will do with the squad that’s available,” Rodu said.

The World Cup qualifiers will be held from November 18 in New Caledonia.
