THE Fiji under-18 side stunned the New Zealand Barbarians School 15-10 in New Zealand on Monday.

Playmaker Josua Koro broke the hearts of the hosts scoring the winning try in the 60th minute to help his team win.

Halfback Jone Vatuwaliwali was spot on with his kicks with a penalty and his vision for the game contributed to Fiji’s win.

He also played a part in Fiji’s first try that was scored by Apolosi Senibulu which he converted.

New Zealand replied with a well- structured try which started from a rolling maul, but Fiji continued to apply pressure.

Fijian captain Alivereti Loaloa led by example and inspired his team, with huge breaking runs supported by lock Joeli Mataalawera and number 8 Eparama Tuivonovono.

The win was Fiji’s second during the tour after beating Wellington Samoa.

The side will face New Zealand Maori in its last game this weekend.

Meanwhile, the Fiji U16 side lost 61-5 to Queensland Reds in the Australian Inter-State Rugby Championship yesterday at the Gold Coast.

The Fiji team scored the first try of the match but the Reds came back stronger widening the score margin to 10 tries difference.
