Government has announced that all non-essential Government services will be temporarily closed for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays from Friday 27, Monday 30 and Tuesday, 31 December 2024.
Prime Minister and Minister for Civil Service Sitiveni Rabuka said essential services will remain operational, with appropriate staffing arrangements in place to ensure continued delivery of service.
“Staff resourcing will significantly reduce during this period; however scheduled and essential services will continue. This break provides an opportunity for staff to spend quality time with their family and loved ones,” he said.
“Permanent Secretaries are requested to encourage staff to utilise their leave during the closure period.”
