A MAN charged with four counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault has denied the charges against him when he appeared before High Court judge Justice Daniel Goundar in Suva today.
It is alleged between October 1 and November 9 last year, in Lami, the man had carnal knowledge, and unlawfully and indecently assaulted his 15-year-old daughter.
The Court heard the matter came to light after the complainant told her friend and mother what had allegedly happened before it was reported to Police.
Defence lawyer Lavenia David told the Court that the accused had not made any application for bail.
Justice Goundar remanded the man and to reappear on June 27 for a pre-trial conference.
