Former Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has called for a national approach to the health challenges brought about by the deadly COVID-19 virus.

He said this was not the time to play the blame game but work together as the grave concern was the devastating impact of COVID-19.

“It is not the time now to be going on a ‘who did what and when’ hunt to trace the entry of the virus.

“The virus, especially the more dangerous and more unpredictable variant, is here.

“It must be stopped from spreading and eliminated.” The issue, he said, should be approached as a national effort.

He said Government should never take it as a matter of “we can do it a lot better together from here on”.

He said non-parliamentarians and some members of the Opposition had expertise in certain areas and could assist during this pandemic.
