EFL proposes increase in electricity tariff

THE Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has received a formal submission from Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) for a proposed increase in the electricity tariff rate.

According to a statement published on the FCCC website, EFL is requesting an increase of 17.27 per cent in tariff across the board.

The FCCC states that it will carry out a comprehensive review of the electricity tariff rate.

It is also inviting members of the public to make submissions.

Members of the public are requested to refer to the submission available on the FCCC website www.fccc.gov.fj and provide their comments on the proposed rates.

All the submissions in writing are to be sent to the FCCC no later than June 14, 2019.
