The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team has announced its squad for the upcoming McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast 7s which kicks off tomorrow at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

In an exciting development, 7s legend and World Rugby Hall of Famer Waisale Serevi has been drafted in to coach the Drua 7s team.

The team will be led by Drua and Flying Fijians hooker, Mesulame Dolokoto.

It features a host of talented players including Olympic Games silver medalist Ponipate Loganimasi, alongside Drua regulars Tuidraki Samusamuvodre, Peni Matawalu, and Ilaisa Droasese.

The inclusion of exciting winger Taniela Rakuro has further boosted the squad.

Also featured in the team are young stars from the Fijian under-20 Drua development squad, including Isikeli Rabitu, Isikeli Basiyalo, and Aisea Tuisese.

Serevi expressed his excitement about the opportunity to coach a Fijian team once again after a long absence.

“I want to thank coach Glen Jackson and the coaching staff for giving me this opportunity after 16 years, I’m coaching a Fijian team,” he said in a statement that was released yesterday.

Fijian Drua head coach Glen Jackson also shared his enthusiasm about the upcoming event.

“We’re very honoured and privileged to be able to play in it. I know it’s an amazing Sevens series that is creating a lot of excitement around it,” said Jackson.

The Fijian Drua are among 16 teams in the men’s division competing in the tournament.

The side is using the Coral Coast 7s as an important part of their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season.
