SETOKI Naceta Waqaliva was honoured with a double appointment as both head boy of Marist Brothers High School (MBHS) and head boarder of Ratu Mara Hostel at last week’s prefects induction ceremony at Lambert Hall.

Born and raised in Nawaka, Nadi, he said he never dreamt he would one day lead students of a school as popular as MBHS.

“As the head boy I can only encourage the boys to do their best and always maintain good character and discipline in and out of school and to maintain the reputation our old boys have set for us in the past years,” he said.

He said the speech by chief guest, High Court judge Justice Salesi Temo, resonated with him.

“Being a young boarder, I’ve had my shortcomings as a student but I am glad that I always work on improving myself on being a better version of myself every day.

“Being the only one from our siblings to attend Marist, I hope I’ve made my parents proud and also my relatives who attended Marist.”
