The 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations alongside World Food Day was celebrated in Deuba District last week.
Minister for Agriculture Tomasi Tunabuna handed over Fiji’s Food and Nutrition Security Policy to the Minister for Health Atonio Lalabalavu emphasising healthy consumption, tackling NCDs, and promoting agricultural productivity.
The FAO reaffirmed its support for Fiji’s efforts in policy development and boosting productivity, while villagers welcomed the initiative being brought to the grassroots level.
