Cowboys aim to upset Dragons

FORMER national 7s player Neumi Nanuku will spearhead his Burenitu Cowboys side against the high flying Saru Dragons in the FNRL Vodafone Cup feature game today.

The former 7s playmaker has added pace and flair in the side in their quest to upset the Dragons.

Nanuku has been the mainstay of the Cowboys for the past four games and is expected to play a commanding role at his home turf.

Cowboys coach Jo Nayacatabu said the experience of Nanuku would be an asset for his team against a tough Dragons outfit.

He said the former national 7s pivot would lead a relatively unknown team against one of the giants of Fiji rugby league.

“Nanuku’s experience has been a huge advantage to the side and he will be a sure starter against the Dragons,” said Nayacatabu.

“He will be supported by some enterprising and talented bunch of boys who are willing to give their best shot for the game.”

He said the side would give the Dragons a good run for their money.

“Saru is one of the best teams in the country after reaching the grand final last year,” said Nayacatabu.

“But our boys will not let their guard down and we will give Saru good game.”

The much-anticipated clash will be held at the Ra High School ground.
