COVID-19: Two arrested in last 48-hours

Two arrests were recorded over the last 48-hours for breach of national curfew restrictions.

According to police, the one arrest made on Monday night was recorded in the Central Division involving a 63-year-old man who was drunk and loitering along Rodwell Road in Suva.

“The second arrest recorded last night was made in the Southern Division involving a 28-year-old construction worker who was found drunk and walking around in the Narere area,” said Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu.

ACP Tudravu has remined mmbers of the public that Police will not arrest anyone who has valid documentation verifying the reasons as to why they need to be moving around during curfew hours or anyone facing a medical emergency.

“Again we reiterate that your respective Command Centre numbers can be contacted in case of emergencies during curfew hours,” he added.
