Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) member Mosese Bulitavu says the approach used by the Government tonight is similar to shadow boxing.
He said the Government had once again failed to take into account the interest of its own people.
Mr Bulitavu said the decision to debate and fast-track the COVID-19 response budget was unacceptable and this was something that Parliament needed to thoroughly look into.
He said it was imperative to ensure honour and dignity of the Parliament.
The COVID-19 response budget was scheduled to be announced at 7.30pm but the debate is continuing on the Government’s proposal to suspend standing orders to facilitate the quick reading of the supplementary budget.
