BSP Financial Group Limited (BSP) recently handed over a community project to Koroqaqa Primary School in Baulevu, Naitasiri, delivering infrastructure upgrades to improve the learning environment and enhancing access to hygienic facilities for students.
The project, spearheaded by BSP’s Thomson St and Samabula branches, includes the construction of three new toilet blocks, one of which features a shower facility to benefit students participating in after-school sports programs, the bank said in a statement.
In addition, general maintenance and upgrades were carried out on the kindergarten complex, including the installation of new cabinets, sinks and a renovated indoor toilet block.
A water tank was also installed with three hand basins.
Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, BSP general manager retail Ravindra Singh said the project was part of the bank’s Community Project program.
“Koroqaqa Primary School plays a vital role in shaping the future of children across Baulevu, Koroqaqa, Udalia, Wainisasa, and neighbouring areas,” Mr Singh said.
“Despite the school’s remote location, we are proud to invest in projects that provide students with safe, hygienic and supportive learning environments.
This effort would not have been possible without the tireless contributions of our staff, who volunteered their time and skills to make a difference.”
Expressing his gratitude, headteacher, Arvind Prasad said, “On behalf of the school, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to BSP for their generosity and unwavering commitment to education and community development.”
Koroqaqa Primary School caters for 236 primary students and 20 kindergarten students.
