With the Ram Sami Nasinu Rugby Football Union club competition coming to an end, committee member Akuila Rokobuli is pleased with the level of commitment shown by clubs within its union for this season.

“We only have 11 clubs within our union taking part in the weekly competitions,” said Rokobuli.

“We’ve completed our round-robin competitions and the teams playing here in the quarter-final are the best eight for this year.

“With a lot of teams being community-based, the level of support from the spectators has been tremendous and we are pleased with the results in the past 11 weeks.”

He added their focus will now be on doing well in this year’s Vodafone Trophy competition, saying the successful club competition has laid a good base for them to work with.

“The extended squad has been training for the past nine weeks,” he said.

“We believe we will do well this year and the opportunity is there for us.

“This weekly competition has laid a good base for us and we will build with that going into the future.”
