FIJI National Rugby League has named former professional rugby league player Brandon Costin as the new Fiji Bati coach for the next three years.
Costin will also be the first national rugby league coach to reside in Fiji and help the development of the sport locally.
Costin played for the Huddersfield Giants, Canberra Raiders and South Sydney Rabbitohs to name a few.
After retiring from playing, Costin became coach of the Queensland Residence side in 2010.
The Australian native said he looked forward to working closely with the Fiji National Rugby League in the development of the sport in Fiji.
“It is very exciting for me and also a very humbling experience to be named the new Fiji Bati coach for the next three years.
“I know and I have had talks with the FNRL who are looking to build and develop rugby league players for both men and women and I am more than happy to be able to help with that,” said Costin.
Costin will be leading the Fiji Bati team into the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.
