WAINIKITI Bogidrau will continue as president of Netball Fiji for a second term.

Netball Fiji has a constitutional requirement that a member of the executive can only stand for two terms in a position.

According to the vice-president admin Vivian Koster, Bogidrau will continue as president despite holding the presidency position of Netball Oceania.

“A term is four years,” Koster said.

“They may take on another position if they wish.

“The current NF president Wainikiti Bogidrau is completing her second term,” she said.

“At the AGM, this is called once the audited accounts have been provided to NF by the auditors.

“It is important to provide an accurate financial record to our members and to ensure accountability/transparency,” Koster said.

Netball Fiji has taken precautions with the rise of measles infections in our country.

They’ve taken this stand in alerting clubs and federations to be aware of this.

According to their Facebook post it is advised that national sporting organisations and their affiliates postpone their events to avoid serious economic and liability costs, should a measles case be reported at your event.

To quarantine an event will be 18 days and the full cost to quarantine will be the responsibility of the organisng sports committee involved.

The Fiji National Sports Commission, FASANOC and the Ministry of Youth and Sports has advised that they will not fund any liability costs for this outbreak at your event because of the continued advisory messages been sent out by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.

Likewise, Netball Fiji will not have liability costs given the Ministry of Health’s advisories, and this notice informing affiliates.
