THE ownership of Warwick Fiji is committed to the resort and to Fiji and they have plans to continue to boost the country as a major tourist destination.

Warwick Fiji general manager Tim Bathke made the statement at the resort’s annual Christmas tree lighting function that was held at the resort on Wednesday evening.

Mr Bathke said as far as occupancy rate was concerned the resort was almost fully booked for the season and they were positive the trend would continue in the new year. He said their goal was to continue providing the best experience for their guests — majority of whom were return guests — and to continue to improve on their existing products and services.

According to Mr Bathke the Warwick Fiji was quite popular as a wedding destination and their records show that every year they had more than 200 wedding bookings.

The resort management had invited children from the Sigatoka Special School and children from Sri Radha Damodar Temple for the function and the children received gifts from Santa Claus.

Mr Bathke said it was an absolute pleasure to have the students from the special school and orphanage.

“My heart goes out to the teacher and the special school kids and it was a pleasure to have them here.

I believe that even if its just for a day, to have them come here and be part of the family was really special to us.”

Sri Radha Damodar Temple official Gita Kirti said it was a kind gesture from the resort to invite the children from their orphanage and the special school to the special day.
