LOCALLY – owned HFC Bank raised $10,000 from its Buy & Sell fundraiser that was organised by its social club early this week.
The proceeds from the event have been handed over to the Fiji Cancer Society to support its vital work in cancer awareness, patient care, and community outreach across the country.
The fundraiser created a vibrant marketplace ambience where staff gathered to voluntarily donate and purchase homemade baked goods, crafts, clothing, fresh produce and household items – all for a good cause.
“At HFC Bank, community is at the heart of who we are,” HFC Bank chief executive officer Rakesh Ram said.
“This fundraiser reflects the unity of our people, not just employees but as a team committed to supporting our communities.
“I am incredibly proud of our staff for rallying together to raise $10,000 for the Fiji Cancer Society.
“This embodies our local commitment and motivates us each day to do better,” he said.
HFC Bank Social club vice president Eleyi Anyebe said the fundraiser reflected the club’s long-term commitment to community support.
“We’re grateful that we are able to contribute to the community via the Fiji Cancer Society,” Ms Anyebe said.
The fundraiser was held on Tuesday at the bank’s headquarters in Suva.
