EVERY team is a threat and Fiji Airways Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber will ensure his players are focused on the task ahead in the Las Vegas and Vancouver 7s tournaments in the coming weeks.
He revealed this during the extended squad training run at Sigatoka’s Lawaqa Park yesterday.
Fiji is pooled with Australia, Wales and Scotland in USA next weekend.
“We will look at all teams individually because all of them are a threat,” Baber said.
“If players don’t have their focus right, anything can happen. I will make sure that doesn’t happen.”
About four to five players joined the extended squad at training camp for the past few days.
Baber said he had had to have a good thinking about his final squad to make the cut for USA and the Canada leg.
Baber said Kalione Nasoko would continue as captain.
“Nasoko has done well. He has got his own personal issues, but he is dealing with them. He has been a leader and has led by example to others. He knows his position within the community here in Fiji.
“He is very apologetic of what he has done, but he’s got something to live up to and he is a great leader and he puts his body on the line.”
The team flies out on Friday and Baber is expected to name his side before departure.
