THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD Vilivo Whippy enters the second day of the FMF Chow Games today hoping for another good outing after winning the 200 metres final yesterday.

The young athlete added another gold medal to his name to help his Suva team lead the medal tally in the first day of the competition.

The Kadavu lad has never settled for anything less than gold in the past four years and this year he continues to dominate the games winning another gold in the 200 metres final with a time of 24.31 seconds.

Whippy dedicated his achievement to the Almighty for giving him the talent.

“First and foremost I would like to give the glory and thanks back to God for giving me this talent where I can prove his worth and I give this win back to him.

“I wanted to break the record this year but I fell short, but that won’t stop me from trying again tomorrow (today) in the 400 metres and when I leave for secondary school next year, I know I’ve cemented my name in the record books of the FMF Chow Games,” said Whippy.

Meanwhile, after the first day of the competition, Suva is currently leading the medal tally with seven golds, three silvers and nine bronze medals, Ra is on second place with five golds, five silvers and two bronze medals and Nadroga Navosa is on third place with five golds, two silvers and four bronze medals.
