THE Leader of Opposition, Sitiveni Rabuka is not fit to lead Fiji in the 21st century.

This was highlighted by Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Selai Adimaitoga.

Delivering her response to the 2019/2020 National Budget in Parliament yesterday, Ms Adimaitoga claimed Mr Rabuka did not have the qualities to lead a nation where 50 per cent of the population were below the age of 27.

“The Opposition Leader loves to bring up his past when it comes to rugby or meeting the Queen, but when his failures are mentioned, the past is bad,” she said.

“Your track record is one of failures and it’s a warning to people of what you can bring to the table and this must never be forgotten. When you have failures in your history that is very risky.

“Rabuka’s pathetic and weak attempt to cause division between the FijiFirst will never work because we are stronger.

“Honourable Speaker, sir, they are already facing division in SODELPA and yet he has the audacity to come into this august house to divide us.”

She said Rabuka should be reminded that the devil is a great divider.

The FijiFirst Government, Ms Adimaitoga said, was committed to maintaining a responsible budget and keeping the role of this nation at heart.

“In the transition to development, modernisation drives the need for technological progress; the digital world and communication removes the national boundaries and leaves nothing unturned, which is excellent in the way of the world.”

In his response to the national budget as the Opposition spokesman for Finance, Mr Rabuka said Government should stop blaming past governments as an excuse to cover their tracks.
